Congratulations to Big Red Curtain Student, Bridget who is featured in the new Shell Energy Marketing Campaign across TV, Social Media, Internet and Radio. Some of our older students may also recognise a former student who has recently graduated Bird College and is currently featured in the Boots Summer TV Advert, Congratulations Monique!

- New Early Years Classes

Due to popular demand we are opening two new Early Years Classes, one in Oulton, South Leeds and one in Boston Spa near Wetherby, North Leeds Our New Oulton Early Years classes will be held on Saturday Morning's during term time between 9am and 10:15am at our Oulton, South Leeds Stage School and Our Boston Spa Classes will be held on Saturday afternoon's between 2pm and 3:15pm at our Boston Spa, Wetherby Stage School you can Read More about our Early Years Classes by clicking here or Contact Us to book a place.

We're pleased to announce our 2019 Pantomimes Our Wakefield School is performing Scrooge with a Twist at Royds School on Saturday 7th December 2019 at 1:30pm, our Boston Spa school is performing The Wizard of Oz Pantomime at Boston Spa Village Hall on Sunday 8th December 2019 at 2pm, Our Oulton School is performing Robin Hood at Royds School on Saturday 15th December 2019 at 1pm. - COVID19 - Schools Closure

Following Government Advice we have been forced to suspend all of our Stage Schools and Show Rehearsals during the current Coronavirus / COVID19 Pandemic. We are working hard to provide some online activities for our students with the aim of keeping everyone creative and both physically and mentally active during these unprecedented times, Resources will include Choreography Videos, Vocal Exercises, Drama Activities and Rehearsal Materials all of which will be made directly available to students via an online portal (details will be sent to students soon). We will be encouraging online student/teacher communication via a series of Self Tape Drama exercises which students can send directly to us so we can provide feedback with the eventual goal of forming part of a Showreel for Casting purposes. We have also been liaising with Trinity College London to begin trials of potential Online Examinations, some of our exam students would be invited to take part in the initial phase of these trials. During this unplanned break we will also be implementing our new Casting Agency Website and will be rolling out access to our students in the coming weeks!

- Alternative Venues

Due to Covid19 restrictions various High Schools have decided not to allow external groups to hire their facilities and as a result we have had to move our school based venues at Oulton, Leeds and Horbury, Wakefield to nearby village halls until such a time the schools/government allow us to return. Classes at the new venues will remain at the same time and we have chosen venues as close to the original venue as possible view our School Locations for updated venues Oulton, Leeds Stage School and Wakefield, Horbury Stage School Our Boston Spa, Wetherby Stage School remains at the same location.

We are pleased to Welcome Everyone Back after Lockdown!
It's been a difficult 5months for the Performing Arts Industry but we are pleased to be allowed to re-open in time for the new September Term and can't wait to invite new and existing students to Join our Classes! We have taken every precaution to reopen and operate within Government Guidelines to provide a Covid Secure Environment and have provided parents and students with a digital copy of our Risk Assessment. Things will be a little different when we return but we can't wait to get back to performing and seeing everyone in person!

Trinity College London is our preferred Examination Board providing our students access to internationally recognised qualifications with higher grades carrying accredited UCAS points which can support applications for University and Conservatoire places. Big Red Curtain has been a Registered Private Examination Centre for Trinity College London for nearly a decade and our students value the opportunity to take Exams to verify their hard work and have the knowledge that they can continue their training even after completing Grade 8 by undertaking ATCL (Associate) and LTCL (Licentiate) Diplomas the equivalent of the first and final year respectively of an Undergraduate Degree.

Matilda Workshop at Manor CE Academy in York on 5th - 9th August 2024, A devised workshop based on the book, film and musical.
