Charity Events

Big Red Curtain has always been enthusiastic about helping Charities. Every year we hold an Annual Charity Show, our students choose a Charity each year and our team of teachers volunteer their time for rehearsals without pay, all profits raised are then donated to the year's chosen charity and it gives our students the opportunity to do what they love... Perform!

MNDA Motor Neurone Disease Association

In October 2019 we raised over £400 for MNDA through an afternoon of Drama and Music Performances.

Big Red Curtain Charity Donations and Fund Raising

Candy Ball

Big Red Curtain have also been asked to perform at Charity Events which they gladly volunteer their time to do, one of our favourite events was the Sweet Charity Candy Ball Fundraiser which were invited to attend multiple years. The event took place at York Racecourse's Ebor Suite, our three musical acts performed throughout the evening along with acts from Britain's Got Talent. Students who volunteered were presented with a free chocolate Goody bag donated by York Chocolate Manufacturer Nestle.

Sweet Charity is the charity for the UK confectionery industry. We care about individuals and their families who contribute to our industry and we are determined to support them in a friendly, professional and practical way when they need help.  We help by providing practical, emotional and sometimes financial support to past and present employees from the confectionery industry, and we have been doing so since 1918.

Sweet Charity is now part of Grocery Aid
